Analysis on Energy Production and Consumption of Recent Years in China

In order to estimate reasonably the amount of emissions of air pollutants and GHGs, it is most important torngrasp the amount of energy consumption by fuel type. There are two kinds of statistics on Chinese energyrnconsumption published in China Energy Statistical Yearbook, one is statistics taking the whole country as thernstatistical object, and another is statistics by province. This paper extracts the more reasonable energyrnconsumption statistics from these two kinds of statistics according to the statistics and investigation system, andrnanalyzes the reasons resulted in the decline of Chinese primary energy year by year from 1996 to 1999 from thernavailable information. Furthermore, based on the analysis of reasons resulted in the possibly too little statistics,rnwe modify the statistics of Chinese primary coal consumption from 1997 to 1999. The results of extractedrnprimary energy consumption show that the declining trend of Chinese primary consumption from 1997 to 1999rnbecomes slower than that of well known the whole country's statistics. The modified results indicate thatrnChinese primary energy consumption still keep a continuous growth at the average growth rate of 4.65% in thernperiod of 1997~1999.
