Species Diversity of the Artificial and Secondary Forest Communities in Sub-Tropical of Guangdong Province

Species composition and stand structure were studied in artificial and secondary forest communities in sub-tropical forestry in Guangdong province where variations in species diversity were compared and analyzed in terms of species richness, Shannon-Wiener diversity index, Simpson index and Pielou index. The result showed the species diversity was 135, richness index is 38, Shannon-Wiener diversity index was 1.770 with it ranged from 0.178 to 2.9, Simpson index was 0.729, with it from 0.063 to 1.915 and the Pielou index was 1.55, with it ranged from 0.296 to 2.186, thus they were quite high, Shannon-Wienner was similar as species diversity and Pielou index. Biodiversity indexes of different exposures were significantly different, with Simpson indexes like Northwest slope>West slope>East slope, but the trend of Shannon-Wiener index and Pilow index reversed. Community biodiversity did not significantly changed with slope gradient but was negative correlated with soil Bulk density.
