Developing Recycling Criteria for Industrial Cleaners

With all the available options for recycling, it becomes difficult to identify all the criteria that need to be met for every company. Looking at what has been presented in this paper it does become apparent that certain essential criteria do exist. These criteria are: 1) Conduct a need analysis. Determine what your cleaning requirements and how recycling will or won't benefit the process and the company. 2) Make an assessment of the type of recycling that fits your company's cleaning process. Look at costs/savings, types of equipment, need for auxiliary treatments, contaminant waste generation, effect on product quality, chemistry usage, etc. Conduct actual use trials. 3) Determine what procedures are to be used in evaluating the recycling technology initially and long term. Make sure they fit within your company's abilities. 4) Identify and consider all the associated factors that are important to cleaning/recycling process. Remember to consider equipment, chemistry and waste. 5) Work only with reputable manufacturers who deal with the equipment and chemistry you are considering. This can be a lot of difficult work, but in the end, your company should end up with the right system.
