摘要

In this work, a performance comparison of expanded three-stage ring oscillators for no-resonant local clock generation and distribution networks is presented. The analyzed oscillators are designed and fabricated using an Austriamicrosystems 0.35 μm CMOS process. The experimental results show that the interconnections play a key role in the performance of the expanded ring oscillators. In this type of oscillators, the operating frequency, phase noise, and power consumption are inversely proportional to the length of the interconnections; while, the output voltage and coverage area are proportional to the line length.
