Environment Preservation and Design Education

Today, the environment aggravation arises by an earth scale. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the technology for preventing it in all fields of the production and consumption. The university should be a bellwether in both sides of the study and the education for achieving this purpose. In the present paper, the curriculums of the department of mechanical engineering of some universities, which are bringing up the engineers connected with development and manufacture of various products at the largest fields of industry, are analyzed. Although each university recognizes the importance of an environmental problem, it is pointed out that each curriculum does not form the program of environmental correspondence from this analysis. Judging from this situation, the necessity of adding the contents which were strongly conscious of environmental maintenance to the design educational subject which is a specific subject group is discussed. And, it is proposed that use of the environmental report which the excellent company has published is effective in this improvement.
