The shape memory effect of Fe-Mn-Si based alloys has been widely invesitgated. and these alloys have been commercially exploited in the joining of tube and pipe. The strength of these alloys, particularly the yield strength, is extremely important for this purpose, and it is therefore appropraite to elucidate the effect of heat treatment and testing temperature on mecahnical properties.
