Using zinc acetate as the starting material, isopropanol as solvent, nanosized ZnO particles were prepared by sol-gel route and characterisized by XRD, SEM, TEM and UV transmission. The effect of sol pH value on ZnO nanoparticles were systemically investigated. The results show that the grain size of ZnO particles was 10-30nm, good dispersivity with alkali sol. From UV transmission atlas of the sol with different pH value, it is confirmed that the UV absorption decreases with the increasing grain size of ZnO.
