Monophase carbides and carbohydrides based on titanium and vanadium have been received by the method of Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis (SHS). It was shown, that vanadium insertion into system Ti-C-H influenced the structure-forming and thermal properties of final products. In the whole range of ratio of metals to carbon, carbohydrides of cubic FCC lattice are formed even at low concentrations of carbon. Solid, porousless, monophase samples of bimetallic carbide samples have been received by compacting and subsequent dehydrogenation the synthesized carbohydrides.
