The cables of the International Guadiana Bridge experience, very often, fromrnmoderate to large amplitude vibrations in different wind conditions. The study concerns the descriptionrnof the amplitude levels for which nonlinear dynamic interactions between deck andrncables could be expected due to the presence of bridge global modes close to integer ratios withrncable local modes. Through a nonlinear cable-stayed beam model the planar modal interactionrnbetween two global modes and a local one in the ratio 1:2:2 is fully described.
