The structures such as bridges and tall structures are subject to age as time goesrnand sometimes cause big disaster–such as breakdown or falling over. This kind of accidents canrnbe estimated by measuring and monitoring the history of the displacement or vibrations of thernstructures. To solve this, bridge displacement/vibration measurement system using imagernprocessing is developed and it can overcome the contact type sensor disadvantages such asrnheavy/expensive property and temporary support structure. The system is composed ofrncomputer with digital camera, telescope lens and a target mark. The key idea is a self designedrntarget mark with which the pixel to mm ratio can be calibrated by the program. The system isrnimplemented and the experimental results are shown compared with a contact type system.
