As european countries are moving towards the activation, among their territories,rnof roads and highways organic maintenance plans, focusing their attention especially on bridges,rnone of the first steps moved by italian Public Administrations has been accomplished by RegionernLiguria. The activities described in this paper have been performed within a collaborationrnbetween Archimede s.r.l. and Regione Liguria.rnArchimede is an italian engineering company, performing design and engineering consultingrnand responsible on Pontis italian application. Regione Liguria is one of the twenty Regions Italyrnis administratively divided in. Once recognized the relevant impact that maintenance programmingrnhas on public safety and on financial public funds savings, Regione Liguria decided to activaterna bridge management system beginning from the basis of a well- structured bridge inventoryrncreation. The main idea has been to involve the four Liguria Counties (Genova, Savona,rnImperia, LaSpezia) in the creation of the "Regione Liguria Bridge Catalogue" estabilishing arncooperation that has been sealed by Counties and Region Infrastructures Assessors. The paperrndescribes the main statements included in this document and Regione Liguria Pontis implementationrnstate of the art. In particular bridge catalogue collection Guidelines and Pontis training forrnregional and Counties technicians written and hold by Archimede are described.
