The prevalence of Avian influenza viruses (AIV) in poultry have become highly in many places. AIV mainly cause uncontrolled systemic inflammatory response, led to pulmonary infection. We use Syngeneic marrow stem cells (MSCs) injected through the caudal vein of mice 30 min after H9N2 AIV intranasally treaded. Seven days later, we observed the mortality, absolute and relative lung weight, PaO2 and PaCO2 by arterial blood gas analysis, cytokine express in bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid by luminex, Pathological change in lung by H&E staining of each group. As the result, we found use MSCs could decrease the mortality of H9N2 infect mice, weights of lung in the MSCs use group were decreased compared with the model group, PaO2 of MSCs group was much higher and PaCO2 was significantly lower than that of model group, we detect cytokine express in BAL fluid, found IL-1a, TNF-a, IL-6 and IL-10 were decreased significantly, after MSCs treated, Pathological observation shown use MSCs could reduce the lung injury. So we deduced, treatment with MSCs could abate acute pulmonary inflammation induced by H9N2 AI virus in mice, the results suggested that MSCs has potential value to clinical treatment of Avian influenza.
