Auditory brainstem response (ABR) evoked by speech syllable are investigated to present the reference of feature peaks, and explore the mechanism of neural encoding of speech in auditory brainstem in 60 and 80 dB SPL stimulus intensities. Typical speech-ABRs elicited by syllables /da/ were recorded to analyze the transient peak responses in terms of the latencies, amplitudes, areas, and slopes. The results show that in lower intensity condition, the latencies of feature peaks delay significantly. And a stronger correlation occurs between some features peaks was found as well, which may be functioning to maintain a high speech discrimination in poor acoustics circumstances.
