Research in the field of tissue engineering has led to the development of multiple manufacturing methods for tissue scaffolds, such as electrospinning, ink jet printing and pressure deposition. In order to create a hybrid tissue scaffold fabrication system, we have researched and tested the properties of materials used to make successful tissue scaffolds. Specifically, we examined process compatibility of Polycaprolactone (PCL) and alginate. The finding will be used to identify proper material compositions for the integration into the fabrication system and optimize the fabrication process.
