Recent years, steel making techniques show a trend shifting to produce the high-gradeand clean steel products for matching with user wants. For the purposes, many researchers have studied on diminishing or controlling the impuritise of the steel. The part of these studies, gunning material that try on tundish lining is made a study of having refining effect.. A baes function of tundish is division of molten steel, rising of impuritis and heat insulation. A conventional gunning material is consisted of magnesia and additives that act a bond/mobility improving. On this study, lime as a second phase which acts as not the tundish safety lining material but that of the material for diminishing inclusions in steel melts, was installed by spraying a watery slurry onto an permanent safety lining material, as a first phase, which is consisted of 80% MgO (so called dual coating method) The effects of installed lime material were researched and compared with the conventional magnesia material which is fully installed as a tundish lining material.
