1. It was established that worked out dolomite carbon refractories possess a high resistance to an action of basic slags. While increasing their basicity the impregnation depth by slag in samples of dolomite carbon refractory is decreased. 2. It was determined that interaction mechanism of dolomite carbon and MgO-C refractories with a slag melt is similar and consists in a gradual substitution of initial components (periclase, calcium oxide, graphite) for new formations (β-2CaO·SiO_2 and 3CaOiO_2, monticellite, mellilit, glassphase, Fe-spinelides) and a subsequent washing away (or spalling) of intensively slagged layer. 3. Industrial testing of experimental lot of dolomite carbon refractories in the set "furnace-ladle" confirmed results of laboratory research and showed their higher resistance against basic slags compared with MgO-C refractories.
