There are a lot of patents dealing with the manufacturing of photographic materials on the basis of silver halide microcrystals doped with noble metals ions as sensitizers. However, the mechanisms of their action remain unclear so far. There is no discussion on the interference of the microcrystals' structure and a sensitizing effect of dopants either. At the first stage a number of platinum ions complexes were formed and their chemical properties concerning the interaction with silver salts have investigated. At the second stage the dependence of photographic properties of silver halide microcrystals from the properties of complex ions, such as the central atom valence, the geometric structure, the redox potential, a ligand nature have been studied. In our experiments the complex compounds with different concentrations were added to silver halide emulsions during chemical sensitization processes.
