AN EXPERT SYSTEM FOR NONDESTRUCTIVE WASTE ASSAY DATA REVIEW

We have developed an expert system framework forrnnondestructive waste assay data review, and an associatedrntool for performing expert system rule editing. We havernemployed a combination of object-oriented and rule-basedrnprogramming techniques to produce a data review expertrnsystem that is easily implemented at new sites. Ourrnoriginal motivation for developing a generic expert systemrnframework was to ease implementation of our system atrndifferent DOE waste treatment facilities, but the result is arnproduct that could be applied to other applications as well,rnsuch as the review of spent fuel characterization data.
