Adaptive Driving Beam with LED-Beam pattern expectations

摘要

Adaptive Driving Beam function brings a lot of benefits to the driver since he or she has the feeling of driving most of the time in high beam without disturbing other road users.It has been seen first with Xenon solutions and now on some prototypes with LED.Using LED to perform this functionality first brings much more flexibility in the light distribution which increases the overall performances of the system while maintaining very good comfort for the driver.Actually,upon the used solution,with specific actuator or with multiple LED,the system management,including the light control unit,will be different.As a result,the beam pattern will have different evolutions upon driving conditions.This paper describes in more details the possibilities on the light distribution,their main specifications and their effects for the driver upon the type of solution and driving situations.
