Willingness-to-pay for Personal Rapid Transit in the City of Almelo

A Stated-Preference study has been conducted after the potentials of a Personal Rapid Transit system in the city of Almelo. This innovative transportation system shouldrnconnect the railway station, centre and hospital using separate infrastructure, andrnimprove the use and quality of public transport in the city. The stated-preferencernquestionnaire was returned by over 300 respondents and made is possible to estimate therncoefficients for a logit model focusing on travellers' mode choice. The estimated modelrnfor the model shift is applied in a traffic demand analysis in order to generate the futurernorigin-destination matrix. A simulation model is applied to investigate the neededrnnumber of vehicles in the PRT network for a desired quality level of the system.
