Database views typically are maintained to be consistent with the database at a specific point in time. In someapplications, however, users may prefer or require views that are not consistent with the database. Typically,this non-consistency is due to users' Requirement of excluding qualified records from the views and/or includingdeleted records in the views. This paper examines the characteristics of non-consistent views and investigatestheir maintenance and management.
