We discuss three basic requirements for two-fluid models thatrelate to the performance of very small particles (fluid point motion).The first two relate to concentration (mixing) and kinetic energy inequilibrium and non equilibrium conditions. The third relates to theparticle diffusion coefficients for particle dispersion in simple shearflow. Results for mixing are obtained from a numerical simulationin a bounded random symmetric shear flow.
