Based on a newly established river model, model tests are performed on Xintonghaisha reclamation in Nantong and nodal regulation in Xuliujing. Effect of the project on river regimes of Yangtze River, tidal level, velocity and discharge is analyzed. After the construction of Xintonghaisha reclamation project, variation of the high and low tidal levels is usually smaller than 7 cm; variation of the current division ratios of the south and north branches of Yangtze River is small, and that of Baimaosha south and north waterways is less than 1%. After the construction of nodal regulation of Xuliujing project, variation of the current division ratios of the south and north branches of Yangtze River is small, and that of Baimaosha south and north waterways is decreased and increased 5%~6%, respectively.
