Permeabilities in the Electromagnetic Calculation of Electric Machines

This paper discusses various permeabilities of the ferromagnetic materials used in electric machines. The measurements of the incremental permeabilities on a typical rotor material of a salient-pole synchronous machine are introduced. And various permeabilities for the stator and rotor of the machine are presented. As an example, the operational inductance of a synchronous machine supplied by a cycloconverter is determined by the method described in the paper.
