3D treatment planning systems in radiotherapy is important to achieve a complete assessment of all aspects of the dose distribution and requires visualization of dose distribution in an easy and clear way. A simulation package based on DPM (dose planning method) and MATLAB was developed, which can be used to solve the dose calculation problems in radiotherapy treatment. Dose distribution of radiotherapy was simulated with Monte Carlo method by rewriting the radiotherapy software-DPM. The profile visualization facilities of MATLAB were used to obtain the dose contours as well as the volume visualization. The results show that the package developed is potentially useful in practical applications.
