Statistical Traffic Trends on the Non-Standard Ship at Mokpo Harbor to Consider the Evaluation Factors of Maritime Safety Audit in Korea

In these days, many harbor bridges are under construction across passageway in Korea. To assess traffic safety between offshore structures like the bridge and passing vessels, Maritime Safety Audit (MSA) is come into force on 3 December 2009. Noting that the hot issue is how can consider non-standard vessels in MSA. In this paper, we searched historical traffic records with 8 year-band in Mokpo harbor and explored the statistical traffic trends of nonstandard vessels. As one of research results, the fishing vessel and the barge vessel are prominent as non-standard type. In addition, some ordinary vessel also showed slight deviation from the dimension of standard vessel.
