This paper describes development of new irradiance measurement correction functions derived from single-day field test comparisons of Irradiance Inc. RSR2™ Rotating Shadow Band Radiometer systems to high-quality thermopile reference irradiance measurement systems operated for extended periods at two sites in the western U.S. Application of these new correction functions are shown to substantially reduce average error in both total and diffuse horizontal irradiance. and in the resulting direct beam measurements for the RSR2™ systems studied.
