One approach to a recursive identification of continuous –rntime systems is described in this paper. Since derivativesrnof input and output variables of continuous – timernsystems can not be directly determined, differential filtersrnand filtered variables are established to substitute primaryrnvariables. The filtered variables are then used in arnrecursive identification procedure, where the classicalrnrecursive least squares method is used to identify thernsystem. The approach was applied to adaptive controlrnusing self – tuning controllers. Application to self –rntuning control of a continuous – time two – input/two –rnoutput system is presented as a simulation example.
