Preparation, characterization and utilization of lignin model surfaces

This investigation was focused on the preparation and characterization of lignin model surfaces from technical lignins. Solutions of various characterized lignin derivatives were spin-coated on silica wafers. The lignin model surfaces were further characterized by ellipsometry, ESCA and AFM imaging. Force-distance experiments between lignin surfaces and between lignin and cellulose surfaces were performed.
