Bandwidth of an elliptical tapered slot antenna fed by a coplanar transmission line is increased by introducing parasitic elements and a triangular slot in the tapered region. We show that using the proposed technique it is possible to achieve 93% input bandwidth (corresponding to −10 dB reflection coefficient) without increasing the size of the antenna. Measured performance of a prototype antenna shows a good agreement with the simulated results. Results of the parametric study have also been presented in this paper.
