Integrated Production Planning Environment for Car's Body in White

摘要

This paper presents the implementation of an integrated production planning environment (IPPE) for designing car's Body in White (BIW) welding and assembly production lines in SVW. The relating modeling methods for manufacturing resources and process information are introduced (which is especially complicated for a joint venture of car production in China). Details of some typical issues involved in the development are discussed. The system has been tested on the project of planning the production lines of the new car model Touran, and the results show that this system can meet the users' requirements satisfactorily.
