Uncertainty in PMD measurements by interferometric techniques. Analysis by means of a transfer function approach

摘要

Polarization mode dispersion in long fibres and devices has been theoretically analysed and measured using an interferopolarimetric set-up. A new polarization mode transfer function and polarization mode bandwidth are defined to analyse the polarization dispersive features of fibres and devices with any polarization mode coupling regime.
