Weeding Through the Magniloquence: The ModernBusiness Performance Management Systems Concept

This exploratory paper presents a literature review of the business performance management (BPM) systems concept. Usinga variety of sources, the concepts of business performance management systems are presented by the authors in respect totraditional theoretical management methodologies and performance measurement techniques, as well as to other enterprisesystems including Business Intelligence (BI), Executive Information Systems (EIS) and Automated Scorecards. As aculmination to the review, a conceptual model is proposed, identifying the key technical enablers and business driversaffecting the adoption of modern BPM systems.
