QUALITY OF MIS QUARTERLY OVER THE LAST DECADE, 1989-1998: A CITATION ANALYSIS

This study employed a citation analysis to assess the quality of MIS Quarterly. Citations made to the articlespublished in MIS Quarterly in 1989-1998 were collected. Seven citation-based criteria of journal quality werecomputed. When compared to the same criteria of the journals from other disciplines, these citation-basedcriteria supported the argument made by several well-known IS researchers and suggested that quality of MISQuarterly is comparable to that of other disciplines.
