This paper describes the testing of arnhorizontal-axis wind-turbine in the NASArnAmes Research Center 80- by 120-FootrnWind Tunnel. This research wind turbinernwas developed by the Department ofrnEnergy's National Renewable EnergyrnLaboratory to measure the aerodynamics ofrnthe wind turbine during typical operations.rnA description of the turbine and itsrninstrumentation is presented, along with testrnobjectives and sample results. Predictionsrnof turbine aerodynamics usingrnComputational Fluid Dynamic methods arerndescribed.
