There is a need to create textiles that protect first responders from hazardous chemicals containing low surface energy. The objective is to design a robust superhydrophobic superoleophobic surface that reduces direct contact between fabric and toxic chemicals by making the material repel water and oil. A superhydrophobic surface is defined as a surface that has a water contact angle of greater than 150° or more.1"3 A surface is considered superoleophobic when it yields a contact angle of 150° or more for any type of liquid droplet and rolls off easily.
