The Research of Influence Alloying Elements on Processes Structure Formation in Stamp Steel

High speed steels belong to the Fe-C-X multi-component alloy system where X represents chromium, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, or cobalt. Generally, the X component is present in excess of 7%, along with more than 0.60% carbon. The results of researches rotined that for stamp steel the most effective alloying elements are a molybdenum, tungsten and vanadium. An optimum concentration in steel of these alloying elements is 1,7-2,0% molybdenum, 2,0-2,5% tungsten and 1,6-1,8% vanadium, that provides successful exploitation of stamps of cold-press. The addition of about 10% of tungsten and molybdenum in total maximises efficiently the hardness and toughness of high speed steels and maintains these properties at the high temperatures.
