Frontier Technology, Inc. (FTI) is developing a Prognostic Health Management (PHM) system for electro-mechanical actuators (EMAs). Work has been carried out under an Air Force Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) project, AF093-176. FTI has developed algorithms for detecting anomalous conditions in EMAs and has successfully applied them to multiple EMA data sets. These algorithms combine both data-derived and physics of failure (PoF) techniques to create a fusion prognostics methodology. The data-derived anomaly detection results are described here.
