The Sulfur Speciation of Diesel Emissions from aNon-road Generator

This study investigated the sulfur speciation from non-road diesel emissions undervarious load conditions. Diesels fuels with various sulfur contents were used to studythe impact of sulfur on gaseous and solid diesel emissions. EPA Method 8 was appliedfor measurement of sulfur dioxide and sulfuric acid in diesel emissions. Total sulfurand sulfate in diesel particulate matter were measured by XRF analysis and ionchromatography respectively. The sulfur balance was estimated under various loadsand fuel sulfur contents, and the correlation between diesel sulfur content anddistribution of sulfur species in diesel emissions was established.
