摘要

NOVA Chemicals Corporation and Honeywell Laboratories have been working together to evaluate the effectiveness of an Early Event Detection (EED) prototype in a typical manufacturing environment. The role of an EED application is to augment the console operators monitoring behavior and situation awareness as well as provide them with a tool to reduce or avoid process upsets. The EED application uses robust mathematical algorithms to monitor the correlations in key process measurements and estimate the state or condition of the plant unit. This paper is the second part of a paper presented at the Honeywell Users Group in 2003, Early Event Detection - A Prototype Implementation [Bell, Errington, Reising, & Mylaraswamy, 2003]. This continuation paper will describe approximately one year's worth of runtime results of the model. Examples of successes and operational issues will be highlighted.
