Rotor Balancing Options

This paper discusses the merits of high (operating) and low speed balancing of rotor assemblies of critical rotating equipment that have been in service; primarily multistage centrifugal or axial compressors, multistage steam turbines, and gas turbines. Balancing is discussed in strictly layman's terms and incorporates several case examples. Actual balancing techniques are only briefly discussed.
