A new experimental method was developed to measure the rheological parameters, tensile strength (delta_f) and plastic deformation coefficient (Y), of fine or ultra fine powder at ambient and elevated temperature. This method was proven to be viable by comparing the results to the established split-cell method for determining the tensile strengths of powders. The split-cell method can only be used at ambient temperature and only applicable for powders within a certain range of interparticle force. Combining the measurement methods of the split-cell, fluidized bed, and the new packed bed method, the resulting rheological parameters were found to be significant.
