Characteristics of Typical Haze Pollution Events in Yangtze River Delta: Results from a Regional Joint Campaign

From the observation data for the Yangtze River Delta, different haze events exhibit different characteristics because of different causes. The dust storm had a regular path and the order of cities affected was decided by its path. During the dust storm event, the coarse particles from soil are dominant. For biomass burning, the process of biomass burning usually increases fine particles, not only from direct primary particles, but also the oxidation particles from gaseous precursors. Two types of haze event showed different regional characteristics.
