The Japan-China joint project "ADEC" (Asian Dust Experiment on Climate impact) was started from 2000 in order to elucidate the variation and characterization of dust particles that originated in the arid and semi-arid area of inland Asia and transported to Japan. During the ADEC Project, we collected the aeolian dust and observed the total suspended particles (TSP) and size-segregated dust concentrations in Beijing, Qingdao and Hefei in China, and Fukuoka, Nagoya, Tsukuba and Naha in Japan. From the result of continuous monitoring, the dust concentration during non-dust event in Japan seemed to be almost equal. Seasonal variations of TSP and mineral matters showed that the mineral matters increased in spring and their concentrations decrease with the distance from the source area.
