Atmospheric Dust In Shapotou, China

摘要

The observation site of Shapotou is located at a potential source region of sand-dust storms and also on an important passageway of dust transportation from northwestern part of China. The paper has discussed the characteristics of TSP concentration in different weathers including floating, blowing and dust storm and compared with background weather condition. The particle size distribution of atmospheric aerosols is also shown using Andersen sampler data. Lidar observation data has shown the frequent existed height of dust layers and its dynamic characteristics during dust phenomena occurrence and dispersed process in Shapotou.
