conjugate natural convection flow along a vertical plate fin embedded in a porous medium saturated with either pure or saline water under conditions in which density extremum might occur is theoretically studied in this paper. The governing boundary layer equations are solved numerically using a very efficient finite-difference scheme known as Keller box method. Effects of the conjugate conduction-convection and temperature parameters on the temperature field, local heat transfer coefficient and on the local heat flux at the plate fin are determined.
