MODERN INSTRUMENTS FOR TEACHING COORDINATE METROLOGY

Methods and techniques used in teaching and training are evolving at a rapid pace based on the support of digital technology. 3D and XD simulation are a concept that can be successfully integrated in the training of CMM operators. By using simulations in conjunction with virtual reality a modern instrument can be developed, which enables the rapid assimilation of knowledge, competences and abilities in the theoretical phase of the CMM operator's training. The paper presents different approaches for simulating the operation of CMMs in different CAD software, specialized CMM software and virtual reality software as well as presenting applications developed for education and training.
