Melt treatment practice of aluminium and al-alloys

The well-known commercial Al-Ti-B master alloys for grain refinement of aluminum and aluminum alloys contain TiB_2 particles that can be coarse and have a tendency to agglomerate in the melt. Hence, quality problems, such as porosity in folis for packaging or surface defects in lithographic sheets may occur.
