This paper introduces a pressurized blister test to measure adhesion strength of sealant to aluminum. Aluminum was found to be an appropriate substitute for aggregate. The proposed test method can be helpful when selecting crack sealants for various climatic and geologic regions. In addition, sealant manufacturers can use the test to improve their sealants' adhesion properties. Finally, by quantifying the adhesion strength, this test can help examine different factors affecting the adhesion strength of crack sealant to aggregate. For instance, in this study the test method was used specifically to examine the effect of curing time on adhesion strength. It was found that longer curing time can enhance adhesion strength substantially.
