摘要

This paper discusses the computational aspects in finite element analysis of three-dimensional (3D) superplastic forming and the influence of various factors on forming processes. Two typical 3D super-plastic forming shapes, conical bulging and rectangle box bulging were analyzed using visco-plastic finite element method. ABAQUS/Standard was used as a modeling tool and the experiment of conical bulging was performed to verify the numerical simulation. The influence, of frictional coefficient, draw in effect, strain rate sensitivity and strain rate on the thickness distribution was studied and some useful conclusions were drawn.
